What is COPSA?

Comprehensive Services on Aging (COPSA) has been providing compassionate, state-of-the-art mental health care for individuals and families in New Jersey since its inception in 1975. An interdisciplinary team of dementia specialists, including a Board-Certified Geriatric Psychiatrist, Social Workers and Case Managers provide diagnosis, treatment and support for individuals and families dealing with memory issues.

The COPSA Institute for Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders offers trainings for doctors, nurses, social workers and other health care professionals who work with older adults. Trainings and educational presentations are also available for caregivers and community members.

Care2Caregivers provides free and confidential telephone counseling, education, support, referrals and resources for New Jersey individuals and the caregivers who support them. Trained peer counselors who have also been family caregivers can help with every step on the caregiving journey.

The multidisciplinary staff of the COPSA Memory Disorders Clinic are dedicated to providing the most advanced treatment and highest quality of care for people with memory loss and their families.

Our Board-Certified Geriatric Psychiatrist from the faculty of Robert Wood Johnson Medical School leads a dynamic team of

geriatric specialists in providing a continuum of care, including initial evaluations of memory problems, ongoing treatment and medication management.

We are experts at diagnosing rare dementias and managing problem behaviors such as hallucinations, delusions, wandering, mood swings, sundowning and combativeness.
